One of the most interesting things that i have read in this book is how humman anatomy class in college only get 1 year 2 years maximum to practice surgery on human cadavers. this is because they are hard to get a hold of and human anotomy class in college get the first pick of reciving them.. This means that first time surgens have little to almost none expericnce doing surgery!and things are learned as they do it!omg this just scares me!
soo why not?
Honestly after having read the book "stiff" by mary Roach I can say that I might give my body up for a better purpose. as Mary Roach had said why not be a superhero after I die?if I can be one?or what purpose does my body have if im not there?why not be useful?
"what a shame to waste these powers,to not use them for the betterment of humankind"--Mary R.(4.)

Stiff continued...
So how is a cadaver useful exactly? would you give your body up? (http://reviews.rebeccareid.com/)
these are some facts about human cadavers, after reading this what would you do?would you still leaver ur body to root or get creamated?

- Dissection: Medical students often dissect cadavers as part of their training. Some cadavers are even digitized so that such studies can be via computer. (Personally, I would want my heart surgeon to have had experience with a physical body!)
- Impact testing studies: Crash Test Dummies can determine the level of impact, but, as Roach points out, the information is useless if one doesn’t know what levels a human body can withstand. And such use for cadavers has great payback:
For every cadaver that rode the crash sleds to test three-point seat belts, 61 lives per year have been saved. For every cadaver that took an airbag in the face, 147 people per year survive otherwise fatal head-ons. For every corpse whose head has hammered a windshield, 68 lives per year are saved. (found at 135 minutes, 30 seconds)
- Organ donation: For people who are brain dead, organs can be harvested and used to heal numerous other persons: heart transplants, liver and kidney transplants, and so forth, and, believe it or not, even head transplants. (Yes, there is a market.)
- Crime and accident investigation: Body decay is studied as a control to determine when and how crime or accident victims died. I’m glad someone does that for a living because a lot of important things are learned for forensic experts.
- Military studies: Cadavers are used to test armor for soldiers, to test boots for land mine clearance, and to test the lethality of “non-lethal” bullets. An alternative, for example: in the past (for example, during the Korean War), armor was tested by putting it on 6,000 U.S. soldiers and sending them in to battle. I really hope if my son is drafted in to the army, the armor has first been tested on a cadaver.
- Plastination: Bodies or body parts can be preserved in a plastic-like state for educational purposes or for research. This state is much more realistic than plastic models would be, because, face it, its real!
Stiff The Curioius Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

This has to be yet one of my favorite books of all time.
This book is told by the author "Mary Roach." The book basically explores human cadavers from beguining to end. I personally dont like books that are informational. but i have to say its quite interesting. You learn from things that our cadavers undergo. from being in Human Anatomy labs in Massachussets as learning experiments to posssible fertilizers for your own back yard. I would honstly say that this is an informational book, the author does research and travels inroder to write this story, it really teaches you alot. it might sound boring right now but you have to read it is an amazing book!

This is such a touching story. I recomend it to everyone even guys. Its the best love story that I have read.
the notebook is about a couple who has grown old and the wife has lost memory and she doent remember much. Her husband who loves her everyday reads her a notebook that has all the event they went though together in their life time. He does this everyday to remind her and so by the end of the notebook she can remember him. This is true love,he sticks with her until they are old and re tells her their story and stays with her even though she cant remember who he is. which is sooo sad at the same time!

"The Scarlett Letter," Is a great book, but the litterature was kind of difficult to understand sice the way its spooken. The book takes place during the 17th cenetury in Boston,Ma. It's during the time when men were seen superior and crimes by women were punished by shame. In this stroy a woman named "hester" commits adultary with a reverand! Because of this Hestery praynne had to wear the scarlett letter (the letter A for adultary). the picture above is a picture of a puritan, this reminded me of the book because there were many puritans during this time period and influencing societies norms.
